Job Details:
THE JOB: Reports to the Company Secretary.
Ensures the Company’s Corporate Public Relations strategy is clearly defined,
well articulated and properly documented.
In this respect, and at all times working to maximize synergies with the
activities managed by the Chief Marketing Officer, develops specific multi-term
actions plan to drive the agreed strategy; establishes and manages channels of
communication with the media, the public, corporate bodies, shareholders and
other stakeholders; provides the Company with effective feedback concerning
public perception and develops/implements actions plan to address that
feedback; generates and evaluates new ideas for articles, press releases,
events, etc and ensures coordination and consistency with desired organization
image. Promotes goodwill with all stakeholders and serves as liaison with PR
agencies, news agencies, event organizers, etc. to ensure project goals are met
and timetable/budget parameters are kept.
QUALIFICATION: First degree in the Arts,
Mass Communication, Political Sciences or Social Sciences. Possession of a
Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
THE PERSON: A natural connector with a wide
range of personal contacts from diverse backgrounds; flexible with willingness
to deal with new subjects, able to challenge current ways of working and
influence people; a proven and motivated individual with excellent analytical,
interpersonal and communication skills; time management and organisational
skills. Good writing and verbal communication and presentation skills, strong
emphasis on multi-tasking and ability to prioritise workload are essential.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years cognate
experience in the Public Affairs Office of a reputable Company. Experience in a
reputable communication / media house would be an advantage.
