Job purpose:
Under the direct supervision of IMIS
Project Manager and the Overall
supervision of the Head of MIS, the SAP
ABAP Technical Expert shall be
responsible for Technical Support, System administration, System
Development and enhancements of SAP System.
His/ Her functions shall
also include design and development of interfaces with other non-SAP
systems.

Major duties and responsibilities:
General Technical Support to super users
and end users.
Ensuring Security, operation and peak
performance of SAP environments.
System Monitoring and Administration.
Development and enhancements of
customized Reports and programs.
Development and enhancements of Forms and
Smart Forms.
Development and enhancements of Standard
and non standard
Workflows.
Design, Development and enhancements of
Interfaces with Non SAP
Systems.
Data Migration and Data Uploads.
ALV Reporting and Dialog programming.
HR Programming and Reporting.
Implementation and enhancements of User
Exits, BADIs and BAPIs.
Implementation of OSS Notes.
Implementation and enhancements of GuiXT
Scripts.
SAP System Enhancements and
Modifications.
Dump and Logs Analysis.
Participation of in setting objectives,
strategies, plans, performance
standards and procedures. Preparation and
updating of Technical documents and procedures.
Preparation of reports, justifications
and Support documentation.
Conducting Technical training and
knowledge transfer to other IT Staff.
Provides inputs and assistance to other
ICT projects.
Acting as backup for SAP and Oracle DBA,
Unix Administrator.
Performing any other relevant duty/
responsibility assigned.

Qualifications and Work Experience Required:
Candidates must have at least an advanced
university degree in
computer science, information systems,
mathematics, statistics or
related field.
A first university degree in combination
with qualifying experience may
be accepted in lieu of the advanced
university degree.
A minimum of 5 years progressive
professional experience in the field
of ICT is required, including at least 3
years of international experience
in information technology, system
development and database
management.
The candidates must also be SAP ABAP
Certified with a minimum of 3
years SAP ABAP and Technical work
experience.
Experience in HR Programming, SAP
Workflows and SAP BASIS is
essential.
5. Other Relevant Skills Required:
- Knowledge and Integration with SAP
Modules - FI/CO, HCM, MM.
- Familiarity with Solution Manager
Methodology.
- Development of procedures and Computerized System design and
implementation skills;
- Excellent interpersonal, report writing
and communication skills;
- Excellent computer skills with practical
knowledge of and experience in
accounting softwares
6. Language Requirement:
Proficiency in one of the African Union
working languages is a
requirement; Knowledge of one or more of
the other AU working
languages would be an added advantage.

Age requirement:
Candidates must preferably be between 25
and 35 years old. 8. Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment will be for an initial
period of one (1) year renewable
subject to satisfactory performance and
availability of fund.

11. Remuneration: The salary attached to
the position is an annual lump-sum
of US$ 69,392.86 inclusive of all
allowances for internationally recruited
staff, and US$ 57,789.27 inclusive of all
allowances for locally recruited
staff.
